This video shows the sentiment behind the duty of fiial piety. A man's mother cared for him and loved him with all her heart. She eventually became old and combative, but he always took care of her. This man mourned her when she was ill and about to die. His memories of her love for him are what gave him the sense of duty to care for her and never stop loving her. His son saw this and learned a great lesson from his father. The theme of the video is "HOW ONE GENERATION LOVES-THE NEXT GENERATION LEARNS" This video represents the Eastern way of thinking.
This video is an interview I conducted with Anthony Maxwell. Anthony is a friend of mine who graduated from college, started a successful career, then had to move his parents into his home approximately four months ago because they were becoming incapable of caring for themselves physically and financially. Although his parents paid for his college education and his car when he graduated, he does not believe in the concept of filial piety. He believes his parents should have invested in long term care insurance so he wouldn't have to be responsible for them later in their lives. His point of view represents the Western way of thinking.
